Deputy Johnny Lemen has recently been assigned to provide exclusive law enforcement protection for our community. Deputy Lemen is on duty in Moorefield Township forty hours per week; this is in addition to area coverage provided by Sheriff Gene Kelly and the Clark County Sheriff’s Department twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Deputy Lemen is developing a strong community relationship in the community and maintains a strong law enforcement presence in the area. Contracting this exclusive law enforcement service from Clark County Sheriff’s Department has had a major impact on the Moorefield Township budget. The cost to the general fund for salary, cruiser, and other associated expenses is in excess of $80,000 annually. The Township also contracts an extra duty deputy to provide a limited amount of exclusive law enforcement protection during selected weekends

In 1999 Deputy Johnny Lemen obtained his law enforcement training from the Miami Valley Regional Law Enforcement Academy and has served as a Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy since 2001. In the summer of 2005 Deputy Lemen started working extra duty for Moorefield Township and was hired as the Township’s exclusive full time deputy in May of 2006. Deputy Lemen has served the community of Clark County by volunteering in many of the local schools and coaching middle school and high school sports and previously served as firefighter/EMT with Moorefield Township Fire Department. He continues to work towards his degree in Criminal Investigations by taking classes through Florida Metropolitan University and has received specialized training in many different fields.
