Chief Deputy David A. Rapp

Chief Deputy David A. Rapp began his career at the Clark County Sheriff's Office on September 12, 1984. Chief Rapp is a graduate of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy and has an Associate of Applied Science in Criminal Justice from Clark State Community College. He has attended numerous training courses and educational seminars to stay abreast of key issues and trends in the criminal justice system. Chief Rapp has served in the Jail division, uniform patrol division, criminal investigations division, community services division, and special investigations division. Prior to receiving this most recent promotion, he was promoted to Sergeant in January 1998, to Lieutenant in June 2001 and to Captain in 2002. He has served in the capacity of supervisor in the uniform patrol, criminal investigations division and jail division. Chief Rapp has served as the Clark County Jail Administrator since June 2001. Chief Rapp has received numerous awards, including Deputy of the Year on three separate occasions during his career, and commendations from Sheriff Kelly for exceptional service, meritorious service, homicide apprehension, and the highest award a Clark County Sheriff's Deputy can receive, the Sheriff's Award.  Most recently he has received the Bluecoat of the Year award from the Knights of Columbus. Members of the business community, law enforcement community and citizens have recognized him for his outstanding service and professionalism.
