2006 Awards Banquet and Promotional Ceremony

     On Thursday, November 9, 2006, Sheriff Gene A. Kelly will promote two new Sergeants at this year “Awards and Recognition Banquet”.

The newly sworn Sheriff Sergeants will start their new assignments on Monday, November 20, 2006.   The new Sheriff Sergeants will replace the retirements that have occurred within our Office. 

It is my pleasure to introduce:


Sergeant Kristopher E. Shultz is a 1989 graduate from Northwestern High SchoolSergeant Shultz began his career with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office on April 19, 1999.  Sergeant Shultz is a graduate of the Clark State Community College, Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy.  Sergeant Shultz is a member of the Pleasant Township Fire Division assigned as a fire inspector.  Sergeant Shultz attended Wittenberg University, as a history major.  Sergeant Shultz has attended numerous training classes throughout his career.  Sergeant Shultz has been assigned to the Jail Division and is currently working on 3rd shift Uniform Patrol Division. Sergeant Shultz is a 2006 graduate from the Crisis Intervention Team sponsored by the Greene County Career Center, Clark-Greene & Madison County Mental Health Board. Sergeant Shultz received the highest award a Clark County Sheriff's Deputy can receive, the Sheriff's Award.  Sergeant Shultz has consistently demonstrated his serious approach to his chosen profession tempered with a good sense of humor and understanding of human behavior.

 

Sergeant James Bryan White is a 1994 graduate from Southeastern High School.  Sergeant White began his career with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office on June 11, 1996 working as a civilian clerk in the Criminal Investigations Division.  On December 4, 1997, Sergeant White became a commissioned deputy Sheriff working in the Jail Division.  Sergeant White has been assigned to several divisions within the Sheriff’s Office, such as a deputy with the Community Oriented Policing program, Uniform Patrol Division, and in 2001 assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division as a detective.  Sergeant White completed his Ohio Basic Peace Officer Training Academy at Clark State Community College.   Sergeant White also graduated with his Associates of Applied Science degree in criminal justice technology at Clark State Community College in June 1996.  Sergeant White has received numerous awards that include Meritorious Service Award, Exceptional Service Award, Homicide Apprehension Award and Perfect Attendance Award including the 2005 Law Enforcement Commendation Metal from the Sons of the American Revolution.  Sergeant White received the highest award a Clark County Sheriff's Deputy can receive, the Sheriff's Award. Members of the business community, law enforcement community and citizens have recognized him for his outstanding service and professionalism.

There will be approximately 250 awards given out to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office personnel in recognition of their outstanding performance for Exceptional Service, Meritorious Service, Homicide Apprehension, Academic Achievement, Perfect Attendance, Service & Retirement Awards.

 Sheriff Gene A. Kelly will also honor, Catherine Cain as this years 2006 Citizens award recipient and also honor the following for the 2006 Public Safety Award of Excellence, David Devore, Med Trans Inc., Glen Massie, Springfield City area transit, Ron Vincent, Clark County Clerk of Courts and Clark County Underwater Recovery Team.
